A founder thesis, by Danielle Dafni

Video is an
asset class.

Most companies are sitting on a fortune they treat like a cost.

My thesis: every video you make is a stock you can price, grow, and trade. Here is the proof.

The question that started it

Hi, I'm Danielle.

I build video for a living, so one question kept nagging me: why does the world treat video as disposable, a cost you write off the day it is published, when it is really an asset that can appreciate over time?

The market already prices music catalogs, podcasts, and channels as assets that grow in value. It just has not done it for your video yet. So I wrote the thesis.

Danielle Dafni, founder of Speechbox

Stop treating your video like a cost. Start treating it like a stock.

It has a price, a risk profile, and a multiple. The whole economy already moved this way. The only thing missing is the layer that does it for your content, and knows how to grow it.

92%
of S&P 500 value is now intangible, up from 17% in 1975
$193M
in content royalties already traded on a single marketplace
$100M
paid for the video rights to one podcast
“A ten minute clip from the right room can be worth more than a thousand views from the wrong one.”
Chapter 03. Why not all video is worth the same
The proof

Twelve chapters. Every one cited.

From why intangibles ate the economy, to the live market already trading content, to the eight ways your content earns. No gate, no email, free to read and free to share.

How I'm building this

A thesis is just words until someone builds the engine.

At Speechbox, we turn raw video into clean, scored, sellable assets. The appraisal and appreciation layer this whole idea needs. If you want to see your own content priced, that is where it happens.

See Speechbox

This is not a metaphor. It is a market.

25-30x
the multiple paid on a top music catalog
20x
revenue paid for a 17 month old podcast
10-13%
annual return investors earn on content royalties today

The signal, not the noise.

Every time a new deal or study proves the thesis, I send it with one line on what it means. That is the whole newsletter.
